Golson Media is a quality-focused book and multimedia content packager located in Croton-on-Hudson, New York. We specialize in producing content for leading publishers in library, school, and trade reference markets. Formerly known as Golson Books, Ltd., the company is increasingly providing digital media, including audio and video, for electronic and web-based product delivery.

Headed by J. Geoffrey Golson, a 30-year publishing veteran and former publisher at Macmillan USA, Golson Media works with more than 500 academic and freelance authors on projects for publishers like HarperCollins, SAGE Publications, Facts On File, M.E. Sharpe, and others. Golson Media was founded in 2002 and has partnered with General Editors from distinguished universities and Pulitzer Prize-winning authors to work with our select group of creative editors, designers, managers, and full-service staff.

Services We Provide

Our team provides intellectual content from concept through final production phases ready for print, electronic, digital, or web-based publication. Our staff and roster of freelancers include: development editors, marketers, copyeditors, photo and multimedia researchers, photographers, typesetters, proofreaders, indexers, and other support staff to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of new products. Our services range from providing proposals for new products to executing a publisher's own program. Moreover, Golson Media provides pre- and post-publication marketing support for titles by offering title website creation and maintenance. Major works are promoted with dedicated websites for editorial updates, author and/or editor blogs, and community-building around the title.

George Philander at Princeton for the Encyclopedia of Global Warming and Climate Change, Yawei Zhang at Yale for the Encyclopedia of Global Health, Clive Svendsen at UW-Madison for the Encyclopedia of Stem Cell Research, among many others. Rodney Carlisle, a retired history professor from Rutgers, serves as our general editor-at-large at Golson Media, covering such topics as politics, intelligence, and U.S. history.
